1/10/2011 #3 New-Nexus Appears! The First HOF Inductee for 2011 is announced! and John Cena pulls a Mae Young
Following last weeks actions on the top of the cell, CM Punk walks out to the ring debuting a new version of the Nexus titantron and his former Straight Edge Society theme, complete with new icon and shirt to sell at the stands... Horray for marketing ! Punk mentions that in order to be a part of "his" new faction, (which is funny considering HE is the newest member of THEIR faction) the previous Nexus members are going to need to pass sacrificial tests tonight.
McGullicuty is 1st, and he proceeds to take every other member of Nexus' finisher following up with the GTS from Punk... and the wierdness begins as instead of leaving him dead center in the middle of the ring as has been Nexus way, they carry him out together like hes a martyr.
Alberto Del Rio d. R-Truth via countout
This rematch from last week was quite comical to me, because it had 2 guys who I barely understand as it is, I speak of course about R-Truth who always sounds out of breath during his entrance rap, and Ricardo Rodriguez, who I have never been able to understand since ADR's debut.
However, like last week's Smackdown, Ricardo manages to interfere and help his master by keeping R-Truth outside the ring long enough, and was given a right hand for his efforts. After the match Alberto cut a terrible promo that I think was meant for commercial break because it was so horrible I wish I had not seen it.
Nexus Sacrifice #2 Husky Harris
2nd on Punk's list of sacrifices is Husky Harris, and his sacrifice involves giving up his stupid name. No just kidding. But in reality something a little more comical wouldve sufficed, instead we watch as Otunga, Slater, and Gabriel each whip Husky 3 times with a leather belt followed up by a berserk Punk whipping him multiple times. Even at this point Jerry Lawler starts basically saying "WTF" over commentary, and personally I agree
Daniel Bryan & Mark Henry d. Ted DiBiase & Tyson Kidd via pinfall
This match was a rematch from Superstars last week (or for those who dont watch Superstars this could technically be considered a repeat match) that I truly believe was meant to be on RAW in the first place but was booted in favor of the more anticipated WWE Championship match.
Now, its worth noting that all this match proved tonight was that the burial of Ted DiBiase continues and Tyson Kidd has now joined the hearse... Jackson Andrews was once again not at ringside, and Kidd gets beat by Mark "doomed to be midcard for life" Henry... I must say though that it was refreshing seeing the dresses that the Bella Twins wore at ringside, only sucks that we came back from commercial and both teams were already in the ring and we didnt get to see more of them. (Wow! did I actually just say I wanted to see more of the Bellas?)
Nexus Sacrifice #3 David Otunga
A clip mentioning Wade Barrett's move over to Smackdown is aired, and Big Show himself comes to the ring to declare his intent to knock out Barrett much like HE was knocked out of Nexus. The NewNexus arrrives on the scene and while Punk, Gabriel, and Slater stand at the top of the ramp, Otunga walks down and gets into the ring with Show.
He proceeds to slap him and stand back with open arms almost accepting that he is about to get beat. Of course Big Show obliges and beats the living hell out of Otunga finishing him with a chokeslam and a knockout punch without Otunga even getting to his feet.
John Morrison d. King Sheamus via pinfall
I guess you could consider this Round 4 between these two in their neverending side feud over who will be #1 Contender. Either way, like every Morrison match he flips around , hurts himself, gets nearly beat... then pulls a miracle victory out of his shaman pants and defeats the englishman, who apparantly now has the King name added to his titantron.
Nexus Sacrifices #4 & 5 Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater... or not
Backstage Punk hands the two remaining Old Nexus members a Kendo stick and orders them to attack each other until he tells them to stop, but they hesitate and refuse. So Punk himself demands they hit HIM with the Kendo sticks until he says... but instead the two former tag team champions seemingly quit New Nexus... dropping the Kendo sticks and walking out to a huge cheering reaction from the crowd.
No idea where this storyline is going, but the amount of people being exiled from the Nexus is starting to equal those in the group, perhaps a Old Nexus v. New Nexus showdown is in the works? After all Skip Sheffield is due back pretty soon and it has been reported that Michael Tarver is down in FCW working off the ring rust due to his groin injury that is now healed.
Maybe they will join Barrett on Smackdown, I hear their roster is a little thin these days.
The First 2011 Hall of Fame Nominee is... SHAWN MICHAELS
Now according to the preview for RAW tonight, it was mentioned that former wrestler now backstage guy Arn Anderson will be one of them inductees for the 2011 HOF, however... in passing on commentary Lawler mentions that they will publically announce the first inductee tonight and will blow the roof off the building!!
Sure enough, it wasn't Arn Anderson... it was mother effin Shawn "Heartbreak Kid" Michaels... and the people go crazy as a video package airs covering his career leading up to his retirement match at last years Wrestlemania. But thats not all... as the HBK music starts to play Shawn himself comes out to a rather mediocre reaction considering the situation and without even saying a word gets into the ring and grabs a mic to start talking... until...
Alberto Del Rio... yes Alberto Del Rio decides to interrupt the occasion and spit more crap about becoming the winner of the Royal Rumble and becoming the next "Mr. Wrestlemania" to which Shawn... still without saying a word proceeds to give ADR a Sweet Chin Music and leaves in silence... and ill admit I was clapping the entire segment
John Cena challenges Punk to a match next week, and pulls a Mae Young!
After a rather questionable segment with CM Punk threatening to jump off the top of the titantron, he in fact was never planning on doing this but again all for a crowd reaction... (some of which really were screaming "Jump" i swear)... the New Nexus (jeezus i am already tired of using that name) comes down to the ring obviously without Slater and Gabriel and Punk proceeds to state that Cena IS not in the arena again due to the injuries he sustained.
However, Cena appears on the titantron, cuts a good promo and even curses without a censor bleep which was actually quite refreshing.
Randy Orton & Jerry Lawler d. The Miz & Alex Riley via pinfall
The main event tag match announced by the GM earlier after a rather questionable email segment speaking of how Cole is the greatest and more handsome commentator ever, was rather obvious imo.
Miz is afraid of Orton 1 on 1 and Orton used this to keep Miz in his corner as Lawler went up for his vintage flying elbow drop and covered Alex Riley for the 3 count. It was wierd because this episode ran rather long and at 11:04 PM usually the time that the show ends, they went and took a commercial break.
Sucks when shows like TNA Impact have to keep us watching for another hour (into the former TNA Reaction show) to see a main event conclusion.
Once again, as always have a great week and thanks for reading!

1/7/11 - Stipulation Week on WWE TV Continues!
1/7/11 - Entry #2 : Stipulation Week on WWE TV Continues!
Hello again, current and future readers, I take this opportunity to welcome you to the very FIRST Smackdown review of this blog, and because this week on WWE was "quote, unquote" the First Shows of the New Year it looks like they tried to start the year off as perfect as they could in the ratings calculator.
As I mentioned in my first ever RAW review (and post) I very rarely review NXT, Superstars, or Impact UNLESS something major takes place that is worth noting. And unfortunately, this week on NXT, something did.
Keeping your Champions relevant, Novak is eliminated from NXT after being traded for Byron Saxton.
However, that wasn't the shocker of the night, is was more of the way it was handled. The very first match of the evening didnt feature the Rookies, it actually was a Over the Top Battle Royal featuring the Pros with the stakes that whoever won, would be allowed to "trade their rookie for another." Now, comically, as Alberto Del Rio walked down to the ring, his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez offered to take his place in the match. Now, in my mind I thought "wow! the WWE in-ring debut of Chimaera" which for those who dont know is the name of the persona Ricardo uses on the Independent scene. (thank you Solomonster)
Now of course I say it was comical that he entered the ring as his ring announcer persona and was proceeded to be put in one of the longest spin cycles ever performed by Daniel Bryan and swiftly eliminated.
However, the winner of the battle royal, was Dolph Ziggler. And almost immediately I knew that if he decided to trade Novak for someone else it was because Novak was definately being eliminated and they needed to give the current Intercontinental champion someone else in order to stay as relevant as possible. To which I was right, Dolph traded Novak for Byron Saxton and Novak was eliminated at the end of the show.
Clash of the United States contenders on Superstars
Daniel Bryan w/ The Bellas & Mark Henry def. Tyson Kidd & Ted DiBiase w/ Maryse
It is questionable why this match was held on Superstars instead of RAW but I assume it was because the timeframe was absorbed by the extended WWE Championship match that went on for almost 30 minutes. It is worth noting however, that Tyson's bodyguard Jackson Andrews was not at ring side so I am curious to find out why.
Poorly timed commercial breaks RUIN Main Events
Onto Smackdown, and just like RAW, the first match of the night was the first main event...
Edge (c) def. Kane in a last man standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship
This match was everything one would expect to get from a Last Man Standing Match. Outside the ring brawling, audience stalking and street fighting, and backstage pursuit and hardcore moments. However stupid WWE decides to send us to commercial break while both competitors are backstage, and when we come back they are ringside. I understand its NOT that important but the brawling involved in between attempted count downs is what makes the suspense of this particular match nail biting and exciting. Now, I half expected a Kane victory when he choke slammed Edge through the announce table, (even with the "OOOOOOH" face by Matt Striker who kneeled down to continue commentary) alas, a One Man Con-chair-to to the knee of Kane forced the Big Red Monster to become unable to stand and the Champion retains. At least, there was no goddam duct tape involved...
Keeping your Champions relevant Part 2
Kofi Kingston def. Dolph Ziggler (c) for the Intercontinental Championship... twice!
So you remember how I mentioned that clearly keeping face time for your champions is important, well clearly I was wrong... or was I? As yet another opportunity for the IC title is given to Kofi due to Vickie's interference during the triple threat match last week. Now, due to Vickie's interference, I agree with this decision... but then again... I think "Dolph v. Kofi" again!? Alas, after utilizing the very same move Kofi won his second reign against Drew McIntyre at Over the Limit followed up by a leaping crossbody from the toprope, Kofi defeats Ziggler and wins his third reign as Intercontinental Champion... unfortunately, Vickie doesnt take this lightly and opens up her big mouth.
Stating that Teddy Long is AWOL tonight, and that she is "acting General Manager" she forces Kofi to immediately defend the championship against Ziggler who caught Kingston in a Zig Zag off the top rope while Kofi was celebrating. Now one would think "screwjob" in the back of their mind, but not tonight as Kofi pulls an amazing Trouble In Paradise out of oblivion and KO's Ziggler for the second win of the night.
If it works... dont change it
Now, I thought it was rather shitty how John Morrison's treatment as #1 Contender went on Monday... sure he lost his FIRST opportunity at the WWE Championship but to not even allow him to be involved in the Cage Match later that night is a highway robbery...
However Kane's shot tonight was his "rematch" clause from TLC and therefore by losing another contender HAS to be determined, and indeed it will as the match is announced as
"Dashing" Cody Rhodes v. Big Show v. Drew McIntyre in a triple threat #1 Contenders match for the World Heavyweight Championship
However prior to this match we had two backstage segments, one of which I thought showed the breakup of Vickie and Ziggler after he called her a "bonehead" for ordering the rematch and she retaliated by calling him a "two-time loser..."
The second segment however, showed more of a "tweening" Drew McIntyre talking with Kelly Kelly about his upcoming opportunity at the "big one"
Unfortunately, and mind you remember what I said earlier about keeping your champions relevant Vickie comes out and changes the match from a Triple Threat to a Fatal 4 Way and re-introduces Dolph Ziggler as the fourth competitor, and he goes on to the win the entire thing!
Dolph Ziggler def. Cody Rhodes, Big Show, and Drew McIntyre in a Fatal 4 Way #1 Contender's Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
During this match, several things of note occured... Big Show dominated, Drew McIntyre got knocked out of the ring and couldnt get back in and multiple attempts saw him being hit once more to the ground by every other competitor. Big Show dominated again... until... Wade Barrett made his Smackdown debut and attacked the steamrolling Show to stop his rampage in the ring. This allowed the three others to "team" up on Show and take him down... However a distraction by Ziggler to Rhodes by pointing out Show re-entering the ring, turned Rhodes back to Ziggler who proceeded to hit the Zig Zag for the pin
Now if this was a graph one could show several high points for Ziggler over the past few weeks. There would be multiple slopes and multiple peaks. His two loss streak to a rehired Cena gave him great exposure as a potential main eventer, he trades his rookie away the night that rookie gets eliminated, he loses the midcard championship title ONLY to win an opporunity at the main event title. To that I say... its about damn time we get a fresh face in the main event picture... Now will it be Edge v. Ziggler @ Royal Rumble or will Ziggler recieve the John Morrison treatment and lose on network television and be dropped back down the ladder for Kane to recieve another title shot? Only time will tell.
As for Drew McIntyre... his "face" turn is completed tonight as he runs out to protect Kelly Kelly who gets distracted at ringside by Layla, Styles Clashed by Michelle McCool, pinned and beaten up some more after the match was done. Now, about this I say... about damn time something FRESH. (I originally re-started watching Smackdown around the time in 2009 when McIntyre debuted)
Rey Mysterio seems to have multiple month feuds... that lead to what exactly?
IMO I am tired of the Cena of Smackdown always defeating the big guys or coming from behind hitting two moves and winning the match... I know its a show... and bla bla bla... theres filler in each match, a punch here a kick there... but with Mysterio its always the same... get demolished the entire match then hit one move and win. Sound familiar?
Alas, tonight was ... wait for it... wait for it... FRESH
Alberto Del Rio def. Rey Mysterio in a Two out of Three Falls Match
So there you have it. A New #1 Contender for the WHC, a New Intercontinental Champion, a Victory for the Heel in a "feud conclusion" match, a face turn for a long time heel... (take that Cena! no wait... wrong direction damit) and a new storyline for Wade "Mufasa" Barrett, the ousted former leader of Nexus. Something that was left in limbo after being "thrown to the stampede by CM "Scar" Punk"
This week IMO was amazing on Television and I hope the following weeks continue to suceed like this.

1/3/2011 "Blog #1: A Week Filled with Stipulation Main Events"
1/3/2011 "Blog #1: A Week Filled with Stipulation Main Events"
A healthy welcome to my future and current readers, and a Happy New Year. I raise my glass as a toast to new beginnings and fresh starts to this wonderful new year.
Monday Night RAW starts off with a bang. As Michael Cole opens the broadcast mentioning that both John Cena and Jerry Lawler will not be on the program tonight. Cena suffered a real hip injury last week in a live event cage match while fighting Wade Barrett, as well as in story got beatdown by a CM Punk's led Nexus. Whereas Jerry Lawler fresh off his defeat of The Miz with John Morrison's assistance was jumped by Miz from the crowd as Micheal "and I quote" Cole was reading yet another email from the "anonymous GM"
The Miz (c) d. John Morrison in a Falls Count Anywhere match
In a wierd yet welcomed start to the first RAW of a new year, we got the first of two main events right off the bat. Several awesome spots between the former tag team partners. With JoMo eliminating a chance of Alex Riley getting involved in the match by kneeing him in the nose while propped up on the audience barricade, it seemed that we might just have a new champion seeing as The Miz has only sucessfully defended his championship when someone else gets involved. But unfortunately during the commercial or perhaps when I wasn't paying attention a table got set up close to the ring and JoMo attempted to Starship Pain while Miz was laying on the table. Alas Miz moved, JoMo threw himself through the table and took a Skull Crushing Finale for the loss.
Natalya, Eve Torres & Brie Bella d. Melina, Maryse, & Alicia Fox
Brie Bella was thrown to the floor by Maryse who turned her back as Nikki Bella pulled her sister under the ring and switched places. This allowed Nikki to turn defense into offense on Maryse who tagged Melina in. Nikki would tag Natalya who would connect with a "Discus Clothesline" (ala Matt Morgan lol) and tag out to Eve Torres who would use a spinning neckbreaker for the pin. Nothing special about this match but it was worth noting that during commercial a rather stupidly comedic ad featuring John Cena aired advertising Gillette and the death of a poor bathroom trash can.
The Usos d. Santino Marella & Vladimir Koslov w/ Tamina
Is it just me, or is this comedic tag team already tiring me out? I understand WWE hasn't cared about the Tag Division for months but this is getting ridiculus
Alberto Del Rio d. R-Truth
Its wierd that Alberto Del Rio was just recently involved in a World Championship match and now he is fighting mid carders in the US Title Division on a completely different show.
Nothing special about this match, but on a rather personal comedic note, I discovered ala camera fail that Alberto Del Rio doesnt actually honk the horn of the "car" he is driving but it is apparently a part of his entrance theme. Lame
A commercial advertising Smackdown airs mentioning a Last Man Standing match pitting Edge (c) v. Kane as well as a 2 out of 3 Falls match pitting Alberto Del Rio v. Rey Mysterio for Friday Night.
We learn that the leadership of Nexus is in doubt as Wade Barrett makes his appearance for the first time since being buried by John Cena at the TLC PPV, and is challenged for the leader position by CM Punk who joined the faction last week. With Morrison losing earlier in the night, a Triple Threat Cage match is announced by the GM pitting Randy Orton v. King Sheamus v. Wade Barrett/CM Punk and between the two of them they must decide on who represents Nexus in the match.
Backstage, Punk lets Barrett know he wants him to take the spot to "prove" he is able to lead Nexus properly as a dominant force. But should he lose tonight, he is out of the group and Punk himself will take over as leader. As Barrett turns to leave for the ring, Punk shakes the hands of the other five guys, who smirk as if they are planning something
During the match, Wade Barrett jumps off the toprope onto the waiting knees of Sheamus and holds his arm as if he hurt it during the landing, as he attempts to climb the cage however, CM Punk runs down to ringside and climbs to the top of the cage offering his hand to help the "Leader" out. But as Barrett reaches his arm out, CM instead rips of the Nexus armband and kicks Barrett off the cage. Leading Sheamus to use his brogue kick on the bare knuckle brawler. Calling for the cage door to be open, it looks as if Sheamus is going to walk out of RAW the new #1 Contender... however as he stumbles toward the door he takes an RKO and Orton slowly walks out of the cage and down the steps to the WWE Championship Match at Royal Rumble
As this is my first summary/blog on this new site, I will explain my format real quick. I watch RAW live and post usually within 10-15 minutes of it concluding, however for NXT, Smackdown, and even TNA Impact I watch those usually on Friday night on Youtube depending on how great the quality of the upload is. I do not usually review those on a blog as it makes no sense with the spoilers and results being well known prior to me viewing.
And with that, I wish everyone a happy first week of January 2011.
